PHYTOCHEMICAL STUDY OF MEDICINAL AND/OR BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE PLANTS

DESCRIPTION: Studies can be done on plants that contain some recognized biological activity. Plant extracts in various solvents and under different conditions of extraction will be pharmacologically tested. In the extracts with positive pharmacological activity, detailed phytochemical study will be done in order to identify the active component.

MAIN ADVANTAGES: To minimize time and costs through studies of plant extracts with positive pharmacological activity. Possible discovery of new drugs. Broadening of phytochemical knowledge concerning Brazilian flora.

MAIN APPLICATIONS: Pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and food industries.

STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT: Some plants have been studied, while other studies can be developed based on demand from potential clients.
