THE HUMAN GENOME PROJECT
The Human Genome Iniciative has already generated vast amounts of
data, and new tools are being developed for data analysis, visualization
etc.
Most of the Genome Research and Sequencing is now being done at a number
of specialized centers, such as the TIGR The
Institute for Genomic Research (Human and microbial genomes), the Sanger Center at
Cambridge, UK (Human genome, C. elegans and yeast), or the CEPH Centre d'Etudes du Polymorphisme
Humain (Human Genome mapping data), the BCM Baylor
College of Medicine Human Genome Center (YAC data, etc).
You can visit the
WashU & Merck Co. or TIGR's EST sequencing project.
