INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS:
 

1. SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS: The deadline to submission of definitive Title (s) and Abstract (s) of Conference (s) and Papers to Posters Session is September 15, 1999:

The Abstract page include the surnames and initials of the author (s), title of manuscript, indication of the place where the work was perfomed, the name of Institution (s), address, phone, fax and email for correspondence. The abstract should be briefly, not more than one letter-size page, single spaced, font size 10, typewritten or in Microsoft Word 6.0 or 7.0 or Word Perfect, with no more five key words at the foot line of this page, summarize the contents and conclutions of the research and should be without paragraphs. Abstract (s) could be send by email or in floppy diskette to the postal address of General Coordinator of the event. Honorary authorship is not acceptable, only recognition for sponsorship should be included at the foot line of this page.

2. SUBMISSION OF FULL TEXT OF CONFERENCES AND PAPERS TO POSTERS SESSION: The deadline to submision of definitive Full Text of Conference (s) and Paper(s) to Poster Session is September 30, 1999.

Once accepted, the Full Text of manuscripts in English (that will be published after the meeting) should be not exceed four letter-size pages, single spaced, font size 10, typewritten or in Microsoft Word 6.0 or 7.0 or Word Perfect, sent by email or in a floppy diskette. These should include Title centred, Author (s), Institution, Postal Address, Phone, Fax and email for correspondence, equally centred. Summary, Key Words (not more than five), Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Recommendations, Acknowledgements and Bibliographical References. They may include figures, graphics, tables, pictures (black and white or color), properly identified with their legend and included in the text or separately (please not included in page numering). The sections should contain as few paragraphs as possible with a minimum number of headings. Numerical and alphabetical divisions should be avoided. In the Summary there should be no reference, paragraphs or headings. Foot notes are not acceptable, all information should be in the body of the text (except in tables). Authors are particularly urged to ensure that bibliographical details are accurate. Correct references are the responsibility of the authors. References should be given in alphabetical order and must be cited in the text. Unpublished works, newspapers articles and personal communications are not acceptable as references, these may be included in the text between brackets (please see the Instructions to Contributors at the home page http://www.dbbm.fiocruz.br/www-mem/of the indexed scientific journal Memórias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz to accurate the correct style). Responsibility for the accuracy of presented information rests solely with the author (s). The Organizing Committee cannot accept the responsibility.
