Trypnews On-line is one of the initiatives we are using to involve colleagues worldwide and exchange information in a dynamic way as well as to strengthening the Trypnet (Hemoparasite Information Network). Also, databases on diagnostic tools for animal trypanosomosis will be available on Internet in the near future. Several efforts for a better understanding and control of these diseases are being done by other groups, e.g. the current EU Concerted Action "Integrated Control of Pathogenic Trypanosomes and their Vectors", the Programme Against African Trypanosomosis (PAAT), the working group on Non Tsetse Transmitted Animal Tripanosomosis (NTTAT), Regional Tse-tse and Trypanosomiasis Control Programme (RTTCP), etc... Valuable information is being produced by these groups and helpful discussions during their meetings may be not available for those researchers unable to attend.  A global effort among interested researchers and affected countries with the help of international organisations as FAO, IAEA, OIE should be the construction of databases on animal trypanosomosis, including detailed information on diagnostic tools, available drugs, treatment, on-line courses, virtual conferences, etc... all using the most popular, fast and modern way of communication: Internet

We have started a regional initiative in South America with Trypnews, On-line databases, Virtual Conferences, Discussion lists, etc. but there is a great need to involve colleagues worldwide in this kind of project, in order to discuss and exchange our ideas and results "sin fronteras
