Exhaustive Tree Search This is any method that systematically examines all possible relationships between a group of taxa/sequences.  It can be quite time-consuming for even moderately large datasets (say, 10) and virtually impossible for more than that number.  An alternative is to use a heuristic or Branch-and-Bound method.
